Conference - Resolution 1325

On 20.04.2015 in Vilnius, Lithuania, international conference took place organized by OSCE, UN Women and the Lithuanian Government, and was attended by more than 70 experts from Europe, Asia and North America. Ms. Natasha Dimitrovska has the honor to attend the conference as a representative from the National Council for Gender Equality.

To mark the 15th anniversary of the adoption of Resolution 1325, the UN Secretary-General has commissioned a Global Study on the implementation at the global, regional and national levels of this key Resolution, highlighting good practice and challenges, as well as emerging trends and priorities.

The conference was an opportunity for the large number of experts and governmental and non-governmental representatives to share their experiences, good practices, problems, challenges, views for the future.

The first to open the conference was the President of Lithuania, Ms. Dalia Grybauskaitė, and the attendees has the opportunity to hear OSCE Secretary General, Mr. Lamberto Zannier, UN Women Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Ingibjorg Solrun Gisladottir, and Ms. Radhika Coomaraswamy, lead author of the Global Study.

Participation at conference

The president of NCGE, Savka Todorovska, participated as a panellist at the national conference to mark 20 years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action "Empowering Women - Empowering Humanity: Picture it!" organized by UN Women in Macedonia and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. The conference took place on 06.03.2015.

Savka Todorovska, as one of the few activists from Macedonia who participated at the Conference in Beijing in 1985 talked about the situation then, her experience at the Conference and the current situation regarding women's rights in Macedonia.


New Year 2015 with the children from the institution "11 Oktomvri"

Like every year, NCGE - SOZM's activists celebrated the New Year with the children from the Institution for children without parents and parental care "11 Oktomvri".

The children received presents from Elena Luka, Matica Ekskluziv and Gorska, and the event was supported by the organization Journalists for Human Rights and the students from the high-school "Algoritam".

WAVE Conference

The 16th Conference of the Network Women Against Violence Europe took place in Vienna from 17 to 19 November.

The 20th anniversary of the existence of the Network was also celebrated during the conference. 

National Council for Gender Equality as a focal point of the network for Macedonia actively participated at the conference. NCGE's representative, Natasha Dimitrovska, moderated the workshop "Defending women defending rights – The work against violence against women in times of political and economic crises,right wing nationalistic movements and armed conflict."

The conference was filled with numerous events, huge number of participants, important speakers, and it was a great opportunity to share opinions, experiences, for networking and collaboration.

Freja Forum 2014

The eight Freja Forum was held from 7 to 9 November in Podgorica, Montenegro. At the seminars and workshops organized throughout the two days the discussions were focused on equal opportunities, democracy and the new challenges of regional development.

The representative of the National Council for Gender Equality, Natasha Dimitrovska was speaker at the seminar on women in parliaments and new challenges in the political participation of women.

This year's Freja Forum was attended by representatives from all the Balkan countries and many experiences and knowledge about many different topics were shared.
