Project meeting

On 12.11.2015 in Skopje, a meeting took place on the topic of "Development strategy, plan and strengthening of the cooperation between CSOs and institutions working in the field of gender based violence, discrimination and post-conflict transition in the Republic of Macedonia."

The meeting was an occasion to share positive experiences and practices from the Republic of Croatia and the EU, as well as the experiences from the study visit in Zagreb, Croatia, where representatives from Macedonian institutions and CSOs visited Croatian institutions. A Manual for Working with Women Victims of Gender Based Violence was also presented at the meeting.

The meeting was part of the project "Strengthening the role of women in combating gender based violence, discrimination and post-conflict democratic transition" financed by the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.

 

Conference "Protection and Support of Women Victims of Gender Based Violence"

On 11.11.2015 in the EU Info Center in Skopje, a regional conference took place on the topic of "Protection and Support of Women Victims of Gender Based Violence - current conditions and good practices."

At the opening session of the conference speakers were: Savka Todorovska, president of National Council for Gender Equality, Mauro di Veroli, representative of the EU Delegation in the Republic of Macedonia, Luisa Vinton, UN coordinator and representative of UNDP in the Republic of Macedonia, Nina Suomalainen, Head of OSCE Mission in the Republic of Macedonia. After the introductory session there were three sessions followed by discussions and conclusions.

Initial Meeting in Sofia

On 20th and 21st October, in Sofia, representatives from the National Council for Gender Equality participated at the initial meeting for the project "European Partnership for Activities that Include People with Risk of Marginalization."

The project will be implemented from October 2015 until September 2017, and non-governmental organizations from Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Austria and Macedonia. The project is financed by the Erasmus Plus Program of the European Union.

 

Study visit in Zagreb, Croatia

In the frame of the project Strengthening the role of women in combating gender based violence, discrimination and post-conflict democratic transition, from 5 - 7 October 2015, National Council for Gender Equality in partnership with Center for Women War Victims "Rosa" from Zagreb, organized study visit in Zagreb for a group of seven representatives from institutions working in the field of gender based violence, such as: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Center for Social Affairs, Ombudsman, and representatives from NCGE.

The purpose of the visit was exchange of experiences and learning from Croatian practices in the accession to the European Union.
