Conference "Protection and Support of Women Victims of Gender Based Violence"

On 11.11.2015 in the EU Info Center in Skopje, a regional conference took place on the topic of "Protection and Support of Women Victims of Gender Based Violence - current conditions and good practices."

At the opening session of the conference speakers were: Savka Todorovska, president of National Council for Gender Equality, Mauro di Veroli, representative of the EU Delegation in the Republic of Macedonia, Luisa Vinton, UN coordinator and representative of UNDP in the Republic of Macedonia, Nina Suomalainen, Head of OSCE Mission in the Republic of Macedonia. After the introductory session there were three sessions followed by discussions and conclusions.

Initial Meeting in Sofia

On 20th and 21st October, in Sofia, representatives from the National Council for Gender Equality participated at the initial meeting for the project "European Partnership for Activities that Include People with Risk of Marginalization."

The project will be implemented from October 2015 until September 2017, and non-governmental organizations from Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Austria and Macedonia. The project is financed by the Erasmus Plus Program of the European Union.


Study visit in Zagreb, Croatia

In the frame of the project Strengthening the role of women in combating gender based violence, discrimination and post-conflict democratic transition, from 5 - 7 October 2015, National Council for Gender Equality in partnership with Center for Women War Victims "Rosa" from Zagreb, organized study visit in Zagreb for a group of seven representatives from institutions working in the field of gender based violence, such as: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Center for Social Affairs, Ombudsman, and representatives from NCGE.

The purpose of the visit was exchange of experiences and learning from Croatian practices in the accession to the European Union.

NCGE member of International Women's Peace Group

We are thrilled to announce that National Council for Gender Equality has become member of International Women's Peace Group

NCGE is actively working on an international level collaborating with numerous organizations and groups from around the world.

Together we work for improvement and advancement of the position of women in the society on every level and in every area.


CoCo meeting of Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE)

Natasha Dimitrovska from National Council for Gender Equality participated at the CoCo meeting of the European network Women Against Violence in Vienna, Austria.

At the meeting the representatives of the organizations members of the network discussed about the current situation with violence against women in the European countries, the work of the organizations, the future activities of the network and the ways of work of the network and the organizations with the aim of improvement of the situations concerning protection of women against violence.
